A blog following an American student as he volunteers in South Africa. I learned more from my hands on experience volunteering than I did in any class this semester, and it is incredible how quickly everything came to an end. Volunteering at the Ark City of Refuge. The kids painted t-shirts, played teambuilding games, swam, played basketball, danced to music and ate pizza. A handful of UCT students came and spent time with the kids, showing them we genuinely care and enjoy their company. It feels so great to know that we made their day and I am not looking forward to saying goodbye next week.
